RE-BEDDING

Re-bedding is the process of securing barge caps and ridge caps to the roof line with mortar. It is an important step in the new roof and re-roof process as it provides a strong foundation for the longevity of the roof. When bedding eventually breaks away, it expands and fractures which can create an access point for water to enter the ceiling cavity.

It is important that bedding and pointing is checked before each wet season to ensure you have a waterproof roof. When bedding is completed, the pointing goes over the top to seal it all in, which is colour matched to the rest of the roof.
